Charlotte Store Soft Opening Photos

As previously noted, this past week was the opening of the “Charlotte Store”: the LEGO Education Center at Concord Mills in Concord, NC. Although scheduling conflicts prevent us from attending the store’s proper Grand Opening (which happens during BrickFair, the only regional LEGO fan convention on the east coast), Matthew (AKA Brickapolis) was able to stop by the store this week and report back on the experience. I’ve reproduced his post here in its entirety:

The Lego Store that opened recently at Concord Mills Mall in Concord, NC (just outside of Charlotte, NC) is not like other Lego Stores.

This is the first Lego store to have a “Lego Education Center.” Read more about the concept here.
As well as a Lego Education Center, this store may also be the first to have a public restroom. Great for those long Pick a Brick packing sessions, I can imagine.
Overall I was very pleased with everything during my visit. Brand Retail should be very proud of what they have done here.

You can also view his Flickr set of photos from the store. Unfortunately, we do not have a photo of the Window Into the Community display.

About Dan

Dan is an AFOL previously living in Cary, North Carolina. He is a life-long LEGO fan, but has only fairly recently (2007 onwards) become active in the Adult Fan of LEGO community. He had previously lived in Londonderry, New Hampshire and Sammamish, Washington, and naturally managed to move out just as LEGO stores went into each area. He has not gotten back on his feet after moving out of NC suddenly due to personal concerns in early 2013.
