The site is now running the latest (2.8.5) release of WordPress and a new LEGO theme I have been working on which is based on the Sandbox theme. If you run into anything that doesn’t look right or doesn’t work correctly, drop me an e-mail.

This evening I installed a new theme for my LEGO blog. This blog is run by WordPress and WordPress allows a site to be styled using what is called a theme. I have wanted to build a new theme for my site for a while and I have been working on a LEGO theme based on the Sandbox theme for a while. In the last few days I finally had some time to really work on it and finish it up enough to start using it.

The theme supports a number of color schemes and it will take me a little while to get them all done. Right now I have three, red, blue, and green, working. Adding colors isn’t hard, just picking some colors that look good together and adding them to the script which generates the CSS files.

I’ve been ignoring this problem for a while but decided to deal with it after getting another blog of bogus user registrations over the weekend. Apparently there are some SpamBots that go around and register users on WordPress hosted blogs in hopes that users will have posting permission by default. These bogus users used to appear on the NCLUG blog from time to time but lately there have been a lot of them 10-15 per day. I try to delete them but there are too many.

I have installed a CAPTCHA plugin which adds a requirement during the user registration process to enter the code displayed in hard to read letters and shapes. I apologize for the hassle but there wasn’t much of a choice.
